Williams Tree & Crane began in 1989 when Jacob’s father, Dan, founded Williams A-1 Expert Tree Service. Jacob grew up around the business, riding along on estimates and eventually starting on job sites by dragging brush and learning the work from the ground up.

Jacob earned an associate degree in applied science with a focus on horticulture from Oakland Community College. He returned to the business full time in 2014 and began preparing to lead the next generation. Over the years, he has helped modernize the company’s equipment and processes with a focus on working safer, smarter and more efficiently.

As the business prepares for its next chapter, the name changed from Williams A-1 Expert Tree Service to Williams Tree & Crane, LLC. The updated name reflects both the ownership transition and the company’s expanded crane capabilities. While the name is new, the Williams family, experience and commitment behind the business remain the same.

Today, Jacob remains hands-on with both customers and his crew. He believes in clear communication, personal service and being present on the job.. That commitment to quality work, dependable service and treating each property with care continues the family tradition his father started more than 30 years ago.

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, taking family trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and getting outdoors whenever time allows.
